I have been told that I can buy a mounting kit to convert the standard 955 rear rack so that it accepts a Givi top box.

Does anyone know if this is true and if so where I can get this kit from.

Thanks guys.

Yep, it's the Universal Givi mount (E250). It's fitted on mine and I can vouch for it - 15 minutes to attach, and surprisingly well made considering it's Givi

Almost all Givi stockists will carry it (or be able to get hold of it at reasonably short notice).

Can't remember how much it was, but don't recall it being extortionate!

As an addition, M&P seem to carry it for £32.35 (probably excluding delivery).

Not bad if, like me, you already have an assortment of Givi/Kappa cases collected over the years

Thanks guys, great information.

You are completely correct. I have many different cases, tank covers, tank bags, stands etc at home so it would be great if I could re-use the Givi stuff.

As an aside, I had these Givi boxes on my Hyabusa many years ago and was one of the guys that suffered from a broken year sub frame.

Suzuki of course attributed it to Give, Givi said it was Suzuki etc

Does that E250 Universal kit definitely fit the 955 Tiger? I know that is says Universal but then that M&P web site list the bikes that it fits and the Triumph is not one of them.

I guess that I should call M&P and find out.

Ok, this is interesting. I just spoke to M&P and according to their books the E250 "Universal" kit only fits the Tiger upto 2001.

They said that I could try it and it it does not fit they would give me a refund so I have ordered it anyway.

I will let you know how I get on.

Thanks a lot, good to know that these bike specialist companies know what they are talking about.

I don't know what it is with Tigers, but I think that almost everything that is not engine or drivetrain fits 1999-2006. I've bought body parts, seat, etc for my '99 that folks said only fit 2003-2006 or 1999-2001, etc, but it all fits. If you go back to the actual Triumph part numbers - I have the Ficheman CD - you can cross-reference. BikeBandit doesn't use OEM part numbers.
If the rack is the same number for all years, the GIVI rack will work on them. I had a GIVI mount on the rear rack when I got mine.

Thanks for that William.

By the way, I was looking at your logon information. Have you taken part in the Iron Butt? I am in the Uk but know several people that have done it.
