Ello chaps and chapettes,

Not sure if this is where you folks post this kind of thing. If not, I plead stupidity!

Some of you know I make a pipe for the new S3. I've been wanting to do something with the new Tiger, but not having one, and being in the boonies, I haven't been able to get my mitts on one.....until now.

I made a trek over to Sac-o-tomatoes last week and, among other things, met up with a gent with nice new gold Tiger 1050 and I built a prototype. I'm posting a shot here (I hope) that is the prototype before I put the heat shield and center stand stop bracket on.

The production model will not have any welds except for those mounts. I also don't know what the price will be until I send it out to my bender. I expect the total retail price to end up somewhere just North of $400. That'll include everything you need to mount up and ride. Production is at least 2-4 weeks out.

I just thought I'd post this now because some of you Tiger folks have been asking about it. (Thanks, by the way). I'm anxious to hear your feedback.

So here goes:

I can't see looking at the pic, but I assume that clearance with the pannier mounting bracket is adequate?
Next question: How loud? :-D

The can is about 1/4 the size (and weight) of the stocker. The guy who's bike I built the pipe on actually though he could buy a set of ST bags now because it wouldn't need the cutout in the right side bag anymore.

You can sort of get a sense of the sound it you go to my website and listen to the clip of the S3. Its actually a little quieter with one can than two. I also offer a baffle that will quiet it down more--If you're into that kind of thing.....

Cheers
Squid

I think a twin pipe on both sides like the speed triple would be cool

I like it too but a couple more pics? Twin pipes would also look good if they weren't too wide.

The can is much smaller and the system is much narrower than stock. I'm sure it would look much like the S3 system with a dual system. The rear sub-frame has a bracket to which you could mount another can but the seat cowling would have to be modified (underneath and not visible). Didn't take any rear photos, sorry!

I rode it around the industrial park, briefly (and w/o a helmet) and think the "tone" is about right. Very similar to Bob's audio of the S3 system.
