SW Motech Centerstand issue

Soooo, I just went to bolt up my new SW Motech Centerstand on my 01 955i Tiger. Not happy with the fitment. The mounting brackets push the footpeg mounts out 5/16 of an inch on each side. Looks dumb with the footpeg mounting plates pushed away from the frame and also moves my foot out away from the shifter. Does anyone know if the OEM Triumph centerstand mounts more elegantly? Is there any compelling reasons to avoid it?

TIA,
Mark R

Hey Mark, you might want to post this at tigertriple.com, as well. Some of the folks there have good experience with that centerstand. They may have some input to offer.

I recently fitted a Triumph stand(£14 in the Triumph sell off) to my 885i, no problems fitting it, though it does sit the bike up higher than the SW Motech stand does.
I would`nt recommend riding the bike or using the stand if everything is not as it should be, might be best to contact SW to see if they`ve cocked up or you

Best of luck

edit - you didnt mount the brackets between the frame and the footpeg mounts did you????

Erm, I think he did.......

Mount them inside the frame, they work better and look neater that way.....

SW Motech Centerstand mounting

I did begin to mount them outside of the frame. That was my interpretation on the mounting instructions, although I'd had a bit of bourbon that day. Are they supposed to mount inside the frame?

Thanks,
Mark R

As Miker says, inside. You can put to one side any brackets that are already in place as they`re not used.
