T1050, Longer chain guard and carbon fiber

Carbon Fiber chain guard for the Tiger 1050. Longer than the original. Easier to install that the orig too. Soon to be available through Bestem USA...the makers of the affordable top box.
This is the prototype.

Yes yes, I know. Some of you might think it should have maybe been longer and maybe curved down a bit, but since it is early in the process, Bestem might be able to make some moficiations, as long as it is not cost-prohibitive, I am sure.
I am not associated with Bestem, but a good friend works with them here in Ga. I dont know the price, but Id think it would be close to what their 675 CF chain guard goes for.

Most after-market chain-guards for the 1050 are still too short!!! Hang a weighted cord off the back end when installed and see if the cord touches the chain. Also, the 1050 chain-guard needs to be WIDER to the inside to cover the chain--the stock one does not cover the inside of the chain.

If one never rides in the rain and uses only a good dry chain lube, then these little problems are probably not noticed. But, get in some good rain, and the chain-guard deficiency will make itself apparent.

Been there, done that, no mess. LOTS and LOTS of rain lately in Atlanta. I have a Pro-oiler that uses normal motor oil as a chain lubricant. String does not touch chain. So far, it is a good alternative, plus......it is Carbon Fiber, so it goes faster now.

Watch out, Valentino Rossi!
