Spoked wheels question

Will a spoked wheel from an '01 Tiger fit on an '05 Tiger?

I have cast wheels and was considering going to a spoked for offroad. It would also allow me to have 2 sets of tires that I could switch out depending on the ride.

46 views and nobody knows? Help a brother out. The set up looks the same to me with spoked and cast.

Pallos,

I am one of the 46 ! As for the the lack of response I would imagine most forum members are like me and only answer if they have something useful to say. No offense intended.

I'm unable to answer your question. I do know that the swingarms are different between spoked and cast wheel models. Not sure if this has anything to do with wheel compatability. This might be one for a decent dealer to answer.

A friend of mine has the 05 with cast wheels and we've done some pretty rough tracks with no problems with the cast wheels. The Tiger is sort of self regulating on dirt roads in that you'll go slower the rougher the road is. Unless you're mad........or superman of course.

Pallos

Good question, I have wondered the same myself. Of course I am trying to find some mag wheels since I allready have the spoke wheels. My thinking is to have some knobby's and lower gearing all set up on the spoke wheels and and some tubeless street tires on the mags for tearing up the pavement. I think I was looking at the same wheels on e-bay, good price, but there gone now. If you find any thing on this subject, please post it here, I will do the same. In the mean time I will just enjoy the bike as is....hard to improve on the perfect bike, but its fun to try.

sat ride

I went for a nasty ride on Sat and hit a rock much harder and faster then I should have. The front wheel took it like a champ. I think I can prob just stick with the aluminum.

I've seen an 885i with Triumph mag wheels,he'd fitted the swing as well,i can only assume that the front did fit as it looked stock.
