Question Cost effective protection

Looking for suggestions for effective, fairly cheap crash bars/bungs/mushrooms for a Tiger 955i - money is a bit tight as some idiot in our house went out and bought a motorbike recently!?!!

Hi Chris, you've could have done worse than to buy the Tiger, speaking of which - try this thread for some parts that might be available soon...

Training

Back again!...not yet. I'm one of the (MCNs) hated "long-term learners. Been commuting on a 125 for 6 years , finally doing a long enough commute to warrant a bigger bike and i've wanted a Tiger since i first saw one. Just recently re-done the CBT, and passed the theory test (I think this is very useful, although probably more for people with relatively little driving experience and i've been driving for 18 years as well as 6 yrs finding my feet on the mini bike).

I'm going to be training with a mate in April, and we are going with a local guy who comes highly recommended...not cheap, but recommendations are everything in this game!

How long have you been an instructor for? Any words of wisdom (things most people cock up would be good!!)

Talking Hi chris good luck on your test

as some one who passed his test recently september last year words of wisdom take it easy on the test calm and smooth and plenty of life savers mirror checks i found the test really easy i did mine on a ktm 690sm and passed first time i found the controlled stop hard in training kept locking the back wheel instant fail i did not do that on the test but came close lol the examiner said it was not pretty but if he had to think about it it could not have been that bad if you think you have mucked up keep going dont go oh sh*t iv,e failed on that might as well give up on the rest off the test you never know i thought i had failed on the bad controlled stop but the guy passed me and here i am 7 months on proud owner of a 06 955i caspian blue tiger oh by the way we do the same test as you guys in england but we can ride 50cc bikes from 14 over here 16 ride 125cc and 18 anything you can insure unlimited cc all on L plates cbt you have to take and can be renewed every two years but can't go riding off the island until you pass full test i'm hoping ot come to england in the summer anygood places to visit and i would like to perhaps meet up and have a ride with some off you english gents when i come over

Thanks for the tips!

Thanks, actually I think I passed my driving test because I thought I'd messed up the 1st roundabout....relaxed after that and drove perfectly! I'm quite confident about this one and I MUST pass cos I need to take out the tiger!!!!!!!!

I'll look out for some good places to visit once I'm in the big boys club, would feel a bit silly at the ace cafe on the little yammy!

Cheers

Chris

They weren't exactly cheap, but cheaper than crashbars and they are VERY effective. In fact, I will only buy R&G crash protectors.

Nice ride. The roulette green is growing on me.

Thanks for the recommendation Kurg, will look into it..... As regards colours, I was going to look at a black one originally but was drawn to the roulette. My wife doesn't like it but keeps saying "at least they'll see you coming!" I think that's one of the points of owning a Tiger (colour regardless).

Yours is looking pretty nice too - obviously a well loved beast!
