Gadget,
I fitted them on my '03. It's kind of weird because it's the only thing I've installed on the bike that I can never see or otherwise perceive while in normal use. That said, they are easy to install, and based on how they work in the garage, they must be pretty impressive on the road.
If I recall correctly, they come with one extra bulb for each set, so I have a spare set in the extra parts bin.
I also installed at the same time the Kisan Signal Minder, which is brilliant. It does two things: (1) turns the turn signals off after a preset interval (I believe I set mine at 40 seconds). The time period is extended so long as the brake is on; in other words the signal will run as long as you are sitting at the stop light with the lever squeezed; and (2) it lights the signals permanently so they are on all the time as side lights.
As mine is set up I can still cancel manually by clicking the switch in. There is an option to make a small modification in the switch so that the signals simply turn off and on without having to cancel them by clicking in. It involves taking out a small spring from inside the switch. I did that at first, but the switch lost its positive feel. So I went back to the "click to cancel" mode.
All in all, I recommend both products. The Tail Blazer must be good, even though I can't see it. The Signal Minder is, IMHO, a big safety improvement.
Ride on.
