Having a little trouble with a 1995 Tiger, and wondered if any help or advice available from the people who know
I have washed the bike and the neutral light no longer works and the bike will now only start or run with the side stand up (will only start with the clutch in)

I think I started the bike after washing with the stand down, and let it warm though - but can't really recall.

Looks like a headlight out job to get at the neutral light - would the bulb gone cause this - or could I have knocked off a wire?

Just got sunny here so a quick fix would be nice - but if not, well the wait will be worth it

Any advice of where/what to look for would be gratefully received

Life is what you make it - so make it wild!

Sounds like your nuetral switch is bad, wet, came loose, or you blew a fuse.

I'd check the connector first, to make sure its dry and well connected.

Then the fuse.

If that doesnt do it, I'd replace the thing.

I dont think it's the bulb, or the side stand switch wouldn't be neccesary.

Hope this helps,

Ed

p.s. the switch is just in front of the small sproket.

djr, if it were the side stand, the light would still work, you would just have to lift the stand to start.

of course it would, doh!

However if it was another switch that was faulty then lifting the sidestand or leaving it down should have no effect.

Accept for the default for it is out of nuetral for safety reasons. If the switch doesn't replay nthan the bike assumes it's in gear, which would explain the need to lift the stand.

Cheers, Ed

Wow
I think it will never stop surprising me the speed of response from these forums

Thanks Ed and David - I will look at the neutral switch as soon as I get home from work.

Just infront of the the small sprocket? I assume that's in side the cover then - no worries I'll find it

Thank you both again
Chris
