Has anyone noticed problems with idling on a hot engine? It only seems to happen when the engine has been ...

run for a while

shutdown fairly briefly

restarted (obviously)[/list]... but she definetely seems to be unhappy about running at idle.

Any thoughts?

When you shut the engine down, are you doing it with the ignition key only?

Oh yes -- I saw a post about this before, so I'm pretty religious about it.

I had the same problem with my 03. The dealer hooked it up to the game boy and determined that the computer had lost it's programming! Apparently the bike was running on some kind of default setting. He loaded the latest tune and it has been fine ever since.

Take it to the dealer, whatever it is it'll be covered under warranty.

Okey dokey, shall do. I'm dropping by the dealership later to pick something up and I'll see if they've got time to check up on it a bit quick. Thanks buddies.

The idling problem occurs to 05 Tigers with the new EFI system.
Apparently the early ones left Hinckley with the fuel pressure set too low. When I got my BRG 05, I came directly from the 04 and was puzzled by what seemed to be a tamer and rougher engine. The idling problem also made itself annoyingly apparent. A quick phone to the utterly helpful gentlemen at Hinckley Warranty confirmed the problem and after a short while I was notified by my dealer, Classic Motorcycles of Toensberg, Norway, that new software was available. This was quickly installed and all idling problems were cured.
The engine also became smoother and stronger through the rev-range.
It is always nice to have a problem like this solved, but the question that begs to be asked is: How come Triumph didn't diagnose the problem during testing of the new system?
