Question Anyone using Sprint ST SW Motech Alu Rack on Tiger 1050

Hi, I've just been told in a PM that its possible to mount the SW Motech Alu-Rack to the grab rail of a 1050 Tiger in the same way that the rack is fitted to the 1050 Sprint ST Grab rail.
SW Motech use a different mounting bracket arrangement for their Tiger alu-rack which doesn't then accomodate fitment of the standard Triumph Panniers.
Both bikes grab rails accept the OEM sliding carriage rack so I assume that its either the same grab rail for both bikes or they're both drilled with the same hole centres to accept the rack brackets.
I'm thinking of buying a Tiger, after my 5hr test ride I couldn't believe how different a ride it is from my ST & how much better the engine felt.
Wish I'd tested one at the time of buying my ST
Just cant decide between the burnt orange & Blue.

Can't answer your question. I'm in the same boat as you though. Bought a Sprint and hip troubles won't let me ride in the Sprint position. So i test rode the Tiger and all is well with the hip So on to the Tiger soon! do you know if the Sprint bags and rail will work on the Tiger ??

Sprint luggage compatibility

I would say No, the ST luggage wont go on the Tiger (TBC) from memory the RHS pannier on the Tiger is sculptured for the silencer.

I have the ST1050 SW Motech Alu-rack fitted to the Tiger 1050 grab rail, haven't got round to buying the Triumph panniers yet though but they do fit. That set up gives more pillion room with a top box fitted if you fit the SW Motech Tiger rack fitted the box overlaps the seat!!!

Do a search on www.tiger1050.com theres a few pics there of the set up, theres a guy in your area called Multilife that has the same set up as me & the Triumph panniers fitted.

Ps blue is the best colour!!
