Conflict of Interest

Tomorrow could be an interesting day! I work for Harley-Davidson and passed our General Manager in the parking lot today leaving the facility. Not sure if he could tell who I was under the full-face and sunglasses, but enough other employees now know what I'm riding for him to find out. My defense line is ready: "after 17years of riding Harleys, I felt like I needed to get an understanding of what the competition is offering." .....besides, the Girlie Tigers are COOL.

You may work for the man, but he doesn't own you. Enjoy the Tiger!

Just don't wear a Triumph T-shirt to work. I showed up at work once - and only once - at the Honda shop where I worked, wearing a Bultaco shirt. It got spray painted black while I was wearing it.

If most of the Harley riders could swallow their pride, lose the image & actually ride another bike, they would like it. I have several friends who ride harleys & I make them take out my bikes once & a while for a spin. They always come back with a really big grin on their face. Its hard for them to admit that they had a good time. I have nothing against harleys, they just aren't real practical for real riding.

It's funny. I had a 1200 Sportster before my Girlie and go to HD dealerships once in awhile to look for gloves, sunglasses, etc. The Girlie gets more ooo's and ahh's from the salesmen and mechanics than any bike I've owned. Usually, there's a crowd gathered around it in the parking lot with appreciative questions.

Girlie??

At the risk of appearing foolish, what's with this Girly thing? Is there something I should know? Have I inadverdently purchased a heterosexually challenging product? Are HDs more manly? (Songs re YMCA suggest not). Do bikes possess a different gender in the US? Does the fact that both the Kellogs Tony the Tiger and Pooh's mate Tigger have no genitalia mean something? Should I be buying ribbons and lovehearts for my bike instead of shiny metal things?

I need to know before I venture out, potentially looking stupid in black leather and talking in a deep voice.

Some people had the need to nickname the various marks of Tiger, Girlies are the ones with eyelashes. I always thought the 1050 should be the XL ( 10 50 geddit ) but Roadie it became.
