I went to meet 'Tango' in London today, had a good thrash through the capital  and a rather nice lunch in Knightsbridge.....which is nice

On the way home i turned on to the embankment and approached Vauxhall Bridge, which has a high 'crown' in the road. Lights were green, so i eased across the box junction, over the top and then POW! the front wheel just disappeared sideways and i got a really good close up of the tarmac (and the diesel all over it!!!)

Stripey took a BIG hit on the right hand side, and i thought 'Crap' this is going to be expensive......but apart from a deep scratch on the right hand crash bar and a scratch on the Givi pannier rack that was it!. What a result!

I feel like i've done a few rounds with Lennox Lewis, but the bike is fine Testament to the strength of these crash bars.

Ditto! Sounds scary. I have been meaning to put bars on, I guess there is no time like the present!

Glad to hear man & machine are OK. Did you get loads of people rushing to help or did they just stand & gawp? I think I know the answer..

I ordered a set of Touratech bars just last week, can't wait till they get here now.

Folks, thanks for your kind words. I am fine but walking a bit like Kenneth Moore in "Reach for the sky" today :-D

Big D,

Typical London....no Ba**ard helped me while i struggled getting the bike up in the middle of a busy box junction honked their horns instead

Except one guy who was in front of me who must have seen me disappear from his rear view mirror....he stopped and ran back to help me...top bloke!

I did however give the guy in the car behind me a tirade of Olde English abuse  .....made me feel better anyway

BS, glad you are OK mate, I have been thinking about the TT bars, as I am off to Southern Ireland at the end of June on a tour so I think they are a must now.

Thanks for the Road Test :-D of them

I was gutted when you told me mate, but glad you and stripey are ok.

Wasn't exactly the perfect end to a good day, but nice to see you again mate.

Left the smoke at 6am and 'rolled' up at the door a 2.30pm, a good clear run for a change.
