Odd to be receiving yet another reply regarding heated clothing from Tucson. I have a pair of Gerbings that I've used several times and have performed wonderfully, especially on rainy, cold "toys for tots" runs in December!

To get back to the 885i fuel guage, on my 00 the low fuel light would come on after a few miles from filling up. I simply replaced the sending unit in the fuel tank and it has performed correctly for the last 4 years/45k miles.

2) the fuel light always comes on when the needle reaches the bottom of the red bit.
3) the fuel light always comes on when I've used 18 litres (4 UK gallons)
Having said that, I always reset the trip meter out of habit. Partly so that I can keep a check on mpg figures. Divide the mileage when the fuel light comes on by 4 = UKmpg.

IMO there's no such thing as an entirely accurate fuel gauge, car or bike. But my Tiger's gauge does the same thing every tank full. So, once you get used to it, you can tell how much fuel you've got left.
Doesn't all that work kind of defeat the purpose of having a fuel gauge????
