I just noticed a coolant leak on my 99 while doing my 24K service. This will be the second time the head gasket has leaked; Triumph has a systemic problem.
I talked to my local dealer and he tried to tell me the tan color in my oil was just condensation. However the wetness on the outside of the cylinder and the sweet taste of the drip coming off the exhaust flange tells me the dealer is wrong.

Since I have it half apart in my garage, I will do all the work myself. So today I get to tear the whole thing down and order parts. Has anyone taken the head off and cylinder liners out? Are there any pitfalls to avoid?

This is the only motorcycle I have ever had in my 30 years of riding that the head gasket leaked not to mention twice.

My 01 leaked after the dealer did a valve repair job. Shortly after running it up it developed a leak. The head was sent to the machine shop and milled and gaskets replaced and its been fine since.
