New Tiger Owner

Hi All

First off what a great site this is, already picked up some great tips!!

I've recently bought a 53 Tiger 955i, really happy with the bike such a great ride (even this missus enjoys going out for a spin), I'm starting to get to know my way around the mechanics of the bike and the other day I wanted to experiment with the rear shock adjustment, so after starring at the manual and the bike for 5 mins I realised that the standard rear shock has been replaced with another one (non standard).

There are no markings on the shock (from what I can see) which tells me what the manufacturer is, so I have no way of knowing how to adjust the settings - would any of you be able to tell me how to find out what make it is or shall I take it to my local dealer.

Apologies if this is posted in the wrong forum.

Davaman, congrats on the "new" bike!
Are there any features of the shock (remote reservoir, preload adjuster rings, spring color, etc.) that could help identify the shock??

Hi Rex

Thanks for the reply... All I can tell you at the moment (at work ) is that the shock is white, the reservoir is attached to the top of the shock (RHS) and appears to be part of the shock moulding (if that makes sense). If I can I will take a picture and post it up.

Welcome Dava, hope you enjoy your new ride.

Sorry can't help you with the shock situation, I'm not much up on 53 955 aftermarket shocks .

Mick

Congratulations on the new bike.

Perhaps I'll see you riding over Clee Hill

Thanks for the warm welcome

Still no closer to finding how to adjust the rear shock yet, so I've got an angle grinder and sledgehammer on standby

Hi Pickaxe - I see your familiar with my area, I was actually up Clee Hill just the other day, fantastic views. Hopefully taking the missus up Hay Bluff (no thats not rhyming slang ) at the weekend if the weather's any good, some real cracking roads out this way.

It's the way UK registration numbers now work - 53 is September 2003 - Feb 2004.
