Hard Luggage Wanted

Hi all,

I'm brand new to the forum after part exchanging my Yamaha FZ6 Fazer for a 2001 Triumph Tiger about 3 hours ago! I should be picking it up from the dealer early next week.

I've been wanting a Tiger for ages and I've had a huge smile on my face all afternoon

Unfortunately my new bike doesn't come with panniers so will now need a full hard luggage set. If someone has some standard Tiger panniers (in green - similar bike in photo below) that they dont use and are willing to sell I would be really interested. I would also be interested in a Givi top box with fittings for the Tiger.

Regards,

Wilsy.

They often come up on ebay but expect to pay £250 upwards. And you may have to wait a while for Roulette Green......

I have a Kappa top box on my Tiger which cost around £75 and is IIRC Givi's "economy" range. It's worked well for 3 years.

Welcome to the forum

Yes, they come up on E-bay all the time. Don't worry if you can't find the correct colour, as they are easy to spray.

Remember you will need a fitting kit as well though.

Good luck.

Thanks Guys,

If I get a Givi topbox with the 'universal' fitment will that be fine to fit to the Tigers rack?

Regards,

Rick.

The Givi adaptor plate is a good fit on the standard tiger rack. Its a very common mod. I have done it this way as in my view the givi boxes are much better quality than the standard Triumph ones. I have the Triumph side panniers which came as standard.

An alternaive to fitting Triumph panniers is to get the givi side fitting kit for the Tiger and then fit Givi side panniers. There is then plenty to choose from on Ebay.

Only slight hiccup with going down this route is the exhaust side panniers sticks out a bit. Whereas the standard triumph pannier is moulded to fit around the exhaust. However it does not hold much because of this.

Thanks for this Chris, it's really appreciated. I think I may be able to get away with a 45L Givi top box and bungee a bag to the rear seat.

The panniers are an issue with the exhaust so unless I can pick up some OEM ones at a good price I'll try and do without.

Regards,

Wilsy.

Talking

WELCOME

to the forum and it's nice to see you have the fastest colour Tiger out there, Many here will tell you silver, black, orange are quicker, don't listen to them they all hear strange voices.

On a different note it may be worth considering a metal set of panniers such as toueatech zega, more expensive but stronger and better depending on what sort of trips you expect to do.

I use Givi E36 panniers. They're really sturdy. Of course, with the exhaust on one side, they are spaced odd looking from the rear. Frames you need for the Tiger955i is the "PL725". Then you can fit any Givi or Kappa panniers.
