Glad to hear you're ok, but I would report the minor injuries to the Police, so that it is logged, and you can have a record of that log number, it can help re: insurance companies. I cannot condone feigning injuries being slightly worse than they truly are, but I am sure some people would....
I agree about the 'no injury, so it's a civil matter' attitude being poor, but I have to say in defence of the plod, that they can be more helpful than that if you get a good one. At the end of the day, isn't Plods' decision to prosecute for due care, or whatever. Ultimately the problem is with the Crown Prosecution Service, they can really cr@p on the Banquet of Justice.
Anywho, mend well, sue the b@stid, and stay lucky.
P.S. PNC = Police National Computer - in a nutshell, database of identities, and so proof of insurance, vehicle ownership and all that.

Eek
Scary prices at Triumph. Had a quick estimate from my Triumph dealer for all the tashed parts on Tigger, including 3 hours labour to fit the new parts, the bill comes to £615.40 add in the £175 quid for a set of replacement Touratech engine bars & the bill is Scary. For such a small amount of visible damage it sure adds up quick.
Thanks for the support & sympathy I am just waiting now to hear what the driver thinks about paying up or going to his insurance. Just about to phone the cop shop to make sure that the accident was officially recorded.
The police were Ok at the scene (arrived after the fact & no witnesses) did a PNC (checked out the car & driver on the national data base, genuine name, insurance valid so thats ok) they had passed & realised that something had happened so circled round to see what was going on stopped & asked the right questions.
Graeme
I'm not going to the Tiger meet on Sunday ironically enough I am attending the first part of the police's "Drive Safe" Course a day of instruction and lectures at the police training colledge at Jacton East Kilbride. this will be followed up later in the year by an observed ride with a police rider/instructor to make me safer on the road. Its a good course & is free, guys in the UK - try it, I did one just after passing my test about 10 years ago & it helped a lot. The coppers on the course were an easy going bunch & a good laugh to boot, hope its the same this time round.
one of these days i will manage to get together with some of the rest of you, every time a meet is organised I have been tied up with stuff I cant avoid.
keep the Rubber side down & watch oot fur cagers.
D

BigD,
Just glad you are in one piece....Bike can be mended etc etc.....
The pillock that hit you should be called to account for his actions, but our government and the Crown Prosecution Service have decided that unless there is an independant witness to the incident, they will not support a prosecution. It would end up with one driver/riders word against another. It's all about the money, not necessarily justice .......
About says it all really.

That's why using a hand held phone whilst driving has been banned in the UK. There is, however, still a lot of people out there still doing it. When I need to get rid of my car I'm going to crash into one of these arseholes. Instantly their fault.
