Angry 2005 Tiger front brake judder

Both my and my pal's Tigers have front brake judder from any speed. We have tightened the head bearings, cleaned and radiused the leading edge of the pads and generally tightened up the front end fastners. Any ideas on a fix please?

Hi Rob,

Welcome to the forum.

There is currently a thread running in the "Tiger Workshop" section of the forum about this subject, best to post there.

There's a few of us with similar problems. My 2006 is in next week for a new set of discs, under warranty, as they are warped.

Others have suggested that a poor casting on a wheel, where the discs attach, could show up as a brake judder. If that's the case it wouldn't matter how many new sets of discs you put on, it's the wheel that's out of allignment. The problem will just show up again.

Good luck on a solution.

Regards,
Graeme.

Thumbs up Thanks!

Thanks for that - I think I will have the hub alignment checked and, if neccessary, machined. I certainly don't want to go through the process of disc changes and then the wheel. The other reason that I would prefer to machine the existing wheel is that there is no guarantee that the new one will be OK.
Thanks again
Rob

Disc Alignment checked

I checked my front discs yesterday - the left one runs out a max of 0.3mm and the right 0.25. I'm going to have the wheel re-machined on the disc bolt-up faces and the discs checked on a flat plate.
Thanks for all the help on this and the tech. thread.
Rob
