I've got a cold leak on my 855i.

If the engine is cold the oil goes milkly and when the engine is hot it becomes clear again, Then letting the engine go cold the oil is still clear, but once started from cold again it goes milky.

oh.. hum.... trip to dealers for some expensive labour.

Definitely not good!

Grey milky oil shows that you have water in the oil.
Are you loosing coolant fluid?

You could change oil and hope for the best. If you run short distances in the winter you might get some problem with condensation.

does not seem to be losing much if any fluid.

Spoke to dealer on phone today and he reacons its cold weather and a poor choice of oil. Booked-in in couple of weeks for recall on tank connectors and a look at oil.

I'm booked into Taylor Racing, I seem to be in the middle of 3 or 4 and they seem easier to get too.

Who do you use ?

I have'nt used any yet but I am due for the 6,000 service. I would normally do my own servicing but have to have it done for the warranty. I will probably use three cross in Wimborne.

Taylor racing seemed to come out well in the Ride Dealer survey. But you never know until you try them.

I happy so far as I didn't get a "oh..ah.. it'll cost you mate" over the phone.

Rafferty Newman down that way, I think they're in Ringwood, has a good reputation.

They might even be in Fareham, not Ringwood.
