I think with a bit of modification the MRA Vario might work ok.

The choices are:

Scrap the MRA Vario screen itself and use a Triumph Tall screen, drill some holes in the Triumph Tall screen and fit the MRA Vario hinge and deflector to it.

or:

Use the MRA Vario screen, but replace the deflector with something taller.

Hopefully, this would take the wind over your helmet.

I just don't want to wreck a couple of expensive screens just to find out !!

Tested the MRA Vario today

Very windy conditions though, so hard to make any real analysis. Definitely feel more wind turbulence come off around the mirrors. Wind was probably 35-45 mph at times. Mostly had a tailwind for about 35 miles one way and a headwind for the return 35 miles.

Tail wind, MRA wing all the way up, headwind MRA winf all the way retracted. Net result, not a lot of difference.

Will try new helmet, seat and removing mirrors and hand guards next to see what kind of results I can get.

Certainly not the Holy Grail.

Screen spacers

Sometime in the past, I read a thread about windscreens (which one I don't recall) but there was a suggestion as to how to help the buffeting. They said to add 1/4" spacers between the screen and the fairing. I used rubber faucet washers that added up to about 3/8" (when stacked) and it helps a lot. The Cee Baily's +6 now deflects the wind to the top of my helmet and the increase of air flow under the screen has decreased the buffeting. It doesn't look pretty, but maybe give it a try with whatever screen you have before giving up.

certainly sound like the spacer idea is worth a try. Expect to have a +8 on friday this week. Will set it up that way and give a try this weekend.
