It's that time of the year again....I had one of the best biking years i can remember this year. Almost 9,000 miles on the new '03 and a couple of thou' on my 885i.

Things are looking good for next year, diary is filling up with some brilliant rides. Something to look forward to, but between now and then i have a few 'projects' to while away the dark nights.

1) Fit my Garmin Streetpilot 3. I am making a custom mounting system for this out of Kevlar. (an acquaintance of mine has the technology to to this for me)

2) Run a new live feed from the battery to a small fused distribution unit behind the fairing. This will save running leads all over the bike to find power. The GPS will need a power source, so will my mobile phone charger and who knows what else?

3) New tyres front and rear

4) Proper strip down clean up. I started today on this task. Stripey is currently in multiple pieces in my workshop!

Should keep me busy for a good little while ??

Anybody else got any winter projects to share with us?

Jim

I will try to continue riding her over the winter but this will depend on how much snow we get.

Only thing I have in mind is to get heated grips and have a go fitting them myself.

El tigre is all year round transport so it will have a hard winter. The mount for the garmin sounds interesting tho. If it works I would definately be interested in seeing piccy's. Have to ask. when you start up from cold, and pull the clutch in does the thudding noise change, as though the clutch is removing a source of vibration. Cos mine does and I am starting to get worried. :???:
