New Birmingham Dealer

At long last Birmingham (the second city in this country) is to get a Triumph main dealer.

The dealership is located next to Heine Gericke, Watery lane, Bordesley, Birmingham.

Due to open at the end of the month.

It is rumoured that other bike dealers ar looking at opening on the same site.

It's a really weird site that - I've been in HG a couple of times and been the only person in there. They're not going to catch any passing trade and it's miles to any decent roads.

The dealers in places like Redditch and Stratford are much better placed.

I too have wondered as to how H.G make money, I went in there Thursday for approx 15 mins, I was the only customer in there, not a another soul came in.

I think it could be developed as a motorcycle mecca with a couple of other dealers on site but when you take you bike in for service do you really want to walk around Small Heath while the "stealer" is fixing it. Stratford is far more appealing. Not that I take mine to a "Stealer" for servicing.

I agree about the Stratford on Avon dealership, but, how would you give directions to the Redditch showroom? You can get lost leaving it.

Everytime I go to HG, I get the same impression as all the other comments here. The Cheltenham branch seems the same. Perhaps they make all their profit in the warmer months and mail order?

Also, from the price deductions they make in the end of season sales, the profit margins must be very good.

Birmingham Triumph

Birmingham Triumph is now open.

According to the blurb it is the BIGGEST TRIUMPH DEALER IN THE WORLD.

Does that mean they will charge more than anyone else.

Has Black Country Motorcycles lost its triumph dealership?

Yeah apparently Black country motorcycles in Tipton have lost the franchise for some reason. Also i've been told that all customers of that dealer have been sent a letter explaining the situation and got a voucher of some description for two free triumph T-shirts!

Well I'm going to have a look. Not keen on the Birmigham Hein Gerike. Chap there refused to sell me some Givi rack arms for my wife's SV because he thought I'd come back and didn't know what I wanted!!!! Mind you I do get told I can come accross as as a grumpy ole turd even when I think I'm being freindly! Ah well. But I'm glad Triumph has a Birmingham dealership. Bout time and Watery lane isn't too bad to find. Its on the main ring road.

I think Triumph has had some sort of purge on its dealers.Must be something to do with corperate image. The Triumph dealer I used for servicing and parts in Stockport gave up its franchise when Triumph wanted them to spend £100,000 on their showroom. Pity really as they had been Triumph dealers since Noah was a boy. They must be trying to get away from the old oily perception of Brit bikes to big slick, shiny dealerships

This would seem to be partly untrue, as a BLACK COUNTRY customer Triumph did write to me to tell me of there wonderful new dealer , and no offer of any free T-shirts, the new Dealer does not seem to have a website, and i would need to travel 3 times further to a Triumph dealer on the wrong side of Birmingham for me, me thinks i'll stick to Black country for now
