I got my Tiger because of the riding position, enough power for me when loaded and 2 up, and the price.

I rode one on test last week-Brand new (4 miles on the clock!) It was better than I was expecting,
The vibration at tickover is huge compared to the Tiger!
The engine at highway speed is suprisingly smooth.
Riding position is a little lower than the Tiger.
I admit the bike was new and it's a little unfare to compare - but it was much slower than my bike, and i was suprised at the lack of engine braking.
Handling was good,i am sure that in the dry, with scrubbed in tyres,it would be as good -maybe better than the Tiger.
Overall I like the style and innovation but needing to commute all year round in all conditions, could I rely on it starting each and every day?,how would the resale value hold up? the cost is much more than mine,so my head must rule my heart....now if I could afford both I wouldn't rule it out!!

I owned an 07 Ulysses and put about 7000 miles on it. Very comfortable bike, lot of people love them. The shaking at idle and American v-twin power band is just part of the package. I had to hang my leg out into the breeze occassionally but other than that the heat wasn't bad. From stop light to stop light and around town it's a blast. It starts to run out of steam over about 90 or so. My biggest complaint was the slow speed manners. The engine is kind of coggy at low rpms making parking lot manuevering a chore. Handling is the Buells strong point but I could never really get mine dialed in. Seemed to be more quick than stable in the runs. Not as confident as the neutral steering Tiger.

The local HD dealer is having a Buell demo this weekend, rode my 955 Tiger over to compare with the new Uly. I'll keep my Tiger, thank you very much.
To me the vibration at idle was way too much.
Although the hp/torque specs listed are identical, the Tiger feels much stronger all through the rev range, and much smoother. The Buell was well broken in already, around 1500 miles on the clock and had just been demo'd at a track day last week.
Handling wise, the Buell has somewhat firmer suspension but handles all bumps large and small smoothly. Tiger seems a tad more stable at parking lot speeds, but out on the road I would have to give the Buell a very slight edge. Very nice. With a little fork tuning I think my Tiger will work as well.
I like the Triumph seat a little better, riding position/layout is very similar, even lowered an inch the Tiger is still noticably taller.
All in all I find the Tiger smoother, stronger, faster, and more comfortable.
