Tiger seats

Has anyone had any experience with the Corbin after market seat for the Tiger (2006)? The stock seat and gel seats just plain suck for me. The Corbin is the only one I have found.

I use a airhawk cushion for long hauls.Very comfortable. Bladder and petrol tank dictate stops rather than a numb arse.

I tried to contact Corbin 3x by email but never got a response. I also wrote to Sargent Cycle out of Jax, FL and got immediate responses by both email and phone. Figured customer service like that ought to be rewarded, so placed an order with them for a custom seat for my Tiger 1050.

To say I'm impressed by their product, service and fantastic communication is something of an understatement! I had a premium foam upgrade, the rider's seat lowered, dished and widened, the rise moved forward half an inch, and the job finished in Carbon FX with silver welting. The seat is absolutely gorgeous, and it fits me so well it's like they had a plaster casting of my bum to their shop!

My only complaint is that with almost four feet of snow on the ground and an outside temp in the minus teens, I can't rush right out to test ride the seat! And I can't really blame that on Sargent...

Corbin, yes!

The Corbin seat is a must have addition to the Tiger. I ordered mine after a long multi-day trip (the last day over 400 miles), literally parking my bike and calling in the order still in my riding gear (standing the entire time because my ass still burned from the seat ). 20,000 miles later, the Corbin is still comfortable. They offer a "nose job" on the seat to make getting your feet down easier, if you are under 6 '.

I have a Corbin and love it! Keep an eye out on-line at places like Ebay, Craigslist, and the classifieds on this site. Folks love or hate their Corbins and they often end up for sale really cheap. I got mine from the second owner, and the first and second owners put less than 200 miles on it! I got it in the factory box! The width makes it a joy to ride and a challenge sometimes to reach the ground. I plan to ride more than stand around, so I'm a happy Tiger pilot! I paid $130.

I've had a Corbin for about 4 months and love it. It does make it a bit more of a stretch to reach the gound. With a 34" inseam to put both feet down flat I have to cozy up to the fuel tank.

Corbin seats are hard but comfortable. In the riding position the thighs are supported by the seat and carry some of the load. Less were and tear on the butt. There is more a feeling of sitting on something whereas the stock seat I felt like I was strattling the seat.

I don't play hard in the dirt with the Tiger so not sure how the Corbin would work in the Dirt.

Big Tiger

Corbin has a factory in Holliser Ca (30-40 miles south of San Jose)

If you ride your tiger there Corbin will customize your foam while you wait. As long as your request do not require modifications to the cover it is free. They will also do this later if you find the stock seat isn't quite right for you.

They even have a cafe and small motorcyle museum on site

I'm happy with my Corbin(s) but, as others have said, their on-line customer service is poor, at best. I've always dealt with them over the phone. The seats are quite firm and there's little middle ground with seats (just like windscreens)... you like them, or not.

Agree with all the comments on the Corbin and have to say it is right at the very top of my best additions on my 02. I have had the original and the Gel seats but the Corbin is the best. Had 700 + mile days and never had to worry about a sore butt. Even the wife likes it and as i managed to get mine off e-bay with a matching green trim for less than 130 quid new BARGAIN !!!!!
