New Guy from North Carolina
Hello everyone, I'm Big Dave from Timberlake, NC (That's just north of Durham). I have just discovered the allure of the Tiger. I went into my local MC shop to look at a KLR but I kept gravitating toward the 2007 Tiger. I need a tall bike and was surprised to find such an attractive machine that I could fit on. I think I've decided to look for an '06. I'd like a little dirt ability still in it's heart and it's just a bit taller than the '07. By the way, I know where you can get a 2007 dealer demo in black for $8800 ish 500 miles on it. I hope to be purchasing one in the next month or so. Just in time for spring. I'll keep my eye's open for any organized rides once I get mine. Cheers.

there's a 2005 on craigslist in the durham area with side cases, top case, heated grips, centerstand for $7000. I haven't seen it in person - the listing just showed up yesterday...

Thanks for the heads up. I understand that there were some further improvements made to the '06s that make the gearbox quieter and easier to shift etc. etc. so I may try and hold out for one of those. But I may have to go look anyhow. All leads are greatly appreciated. Thanks

Here's the info I remember reading:
Changes for 2006:
- New cylinder head and crankcases with revised cooling hose routing for a visually tidier engine
- Backlash eliminator gear for reduced noise and vibration
- Revised gear change internals
- New Jet Black and Caspian Blue colour options

Hi Big Dave,

Welcome to the forum. I'm 10 miles east of Durham, but I think it might be a different Durham !

Safe riding.

Regards,
Graeme.

Thanks. Yeah, The people 10 miles East of Durham I'm aware of don't speak with an British accent. It's some kind of slang but it's definitely not British.

You'd have thought those early settlers would've had a bit more imagination.
