SHMBO and the sprog are having a break for half term. I went to visit them and thought I would take the tiger for a run.
The ‘Cat and Fiddle’ is known as the most dangerous road in the UK. There is a large notice board showing 43 serious accidents over the last few years with 3 fatalities.
Today I was the only bike on it; the road up the west side was clear and dry with only melt water running over the road in certain place to worry about. At the top the owner of the pub greeted me with the words “your mad you are”. I don’t think that it was the temperature of 2 C but the gale force winds that he was commenting on.
The way down the east side was tricky, an inch or so of snow covered the road forcing me to tram line one of the ruts made by the cars. Half way down a Rover car balanced on the edge of a bank with a young police officer in attendance made me cross out of my little rut and the bike squirmed on the soft snow, he looked at me as if I was from another planet.
The rest of the journey was uneventful and after a round of crazy golf and a swim in the ‘subtropical paradise’ it was off home again.

Thank you Mr Gerblings non of my extremities fell off

Managed to get out myself today, a high of 3c, but boy was it good.
And no heated clothing, unlike you southern softies :-D

The roads were bone dry, but laden with salt.

Had the Garmin on, and it was giving me a good tour round Ireland, no idea why, because after I stopped off for a coffee and restarted the bike, switched on the Garmin, it was fine.

It's great when you don't know your lost

Should have called in at the pub and told them that their sign should read " you're mad you are" and please may I have free hot drink for spotting the deliberate(?) error.

Sunny and 78 degree F today in Austin Texas. We have our cold days too but those pics would chill me to the bone, if it weren't so hot here today.

Went for a spin meself last Sunday with 5 other assorted Triumphs. Lunch next to Dungeness power station in the "Brittania". The eating area faces out to sea (south). We emerged to find an EFFING great black cloud to the North, just about to throw a blizzard at us. Horizontal whiteout it was. Still I was cozy. I just turned the Gialli heated liner up a few notches.
