Ride Video Australia

There's a not bad bit of road over the Gibralter Range in Northern New South Wales, Australia.
The bike is a 1050 Tiger.

Looks like fun.

I wonder if overtaking on solid double white lines means the same there as it does here in the UK ??

If it does, then it's a pity the rider didn't set an example for the other road users.

I like the shot at the front fork. Shows what travel happens in the shock even on a smooth road.

Check out the other videos. One crash and it didn't look as if he stopped to help. But the guy looked okay.

Graeme, you should get a life, set an example for other pensioner riders, and Whisperinsmith, yes, the rider(my friend Brian) was O.K, that's why he gave the O.K signal, and that's why I stopped a hundred yards up the road to signal other traffic to slow down while other members of the group helped recover the bike.
It's senseless all milling around at the scene,if there's enough people, oncoming traffic needs to be alerted that there is a problem ahead.

Yeah, you're right I should get a life.

It's just when you work in the emergency services and you are cutting young people out of cars, etc, just because some tosser crossed a solid white line, you tend to find yourself making these statements.

I apologise !

Right with you Greame............double white lines are there for a reason in the UK. Not sure about OZ.

Klavdy - drop the sensitivity -Graeme had a **** good point, but probably expected a more civil answer to his reasonable question.

Chill

A good video Klavdy, to be sure. The Gibraltar range is a pearler, all be it somewhat hairy in some places.

Moderators hat on - No name calling please! to wit, "pensioner", "Tosser" etc. If you can't tolerate critical comments on things you do, or post, then please don't post them. Moderators hat off.

Play nice eh!

Mick

Lemme see if I got this right, I post a ride Video on a motorcycle site and receive unsolicited comments, harrumphing and tutt tutting from self appointed traffic policemen with rather engaging sobriquets such as Harley ( Big H)and graeme (small g) tenuously linking video footage with unspecified young people being cut out of cars by someone who apparently performs some unnamed emergency service, (tow truck driver perhaps? A stop go man?) , and I'm the intolerant and unreasonable one?

klavdy,
All emotions set aside, I've got a couple of questions. Is that the Thunderbike sport screen? And secondly, what video setup do you use? Pretty nice footage.

No worries, you had a valid point where you thought I did'nt stop at an accident.
That , to me, would be unthinkable.
Any way, the screen is the stock standard one, and I'm waiting for either the Calsci or the Mra Vario to become a bit more widespread, you know, get a few more user reviews.
It's an expensive proposition testing them here in Australia.
I'm 6'4" and find the stock screen pretty noisy.

The Video system at the moment is 2 Sony DCR HC-42 Mini DVtape Handy Cams,

With 4 Sony 520 line PAL pencil cams, here's the rear set,

and the front one, (the other ones Helmet mounted)

All controlled by switches and LANC's on the left handlebar,

The Handycams are in a Pelican box in the Topbox, wired via custom power supply and regulator to the bike.
