A lot depends on the time of year but I like to go in hard on the assumption that if you don't ask you don't get. You may be suprised what you get away with if you're bold and stand your ground.

yep aim high, you can always come down a bit but if you aim low you may end up with very little.

I find that dealers may come down a little in price, but you can often get more value from haggling over accessories thrown in. Theidea is that often there is not much margin on the bike, but accessories may only cost the dealer half of what he charges. So from the dealers point of view, giving you $1,000 off the price of the bike costs him $1,000. Giving you $2,000 worth of accessories also actually costs him $1,000.

Think of the pannier system. They cost me about $1,000 and now they throw them in with the bike.

Which would you prefer?

This numbers are not real or exact, but it is worth looking into.

The next step after accessories you shall have first service free and try with second service free.

Don't be shy to ask.
