"And rust in my gas tank from the beginning and the dealer says triumph says it is not a problem"

I doubt if Triumph says it is not a problem, unless your dealer is trying to get Triumph to handle it under warrantee.

My S3 used some oil at break in, but hasn't used a drop since.
I would imagine there are a lot of bikes being improperly run in or are being run with oil viscosities not recommended by Triumph, so I wouldn't be put off what your reading in the posts here or elsewhere.
As far as I am concearned the 1050 motor is as good as anything out of Japan I have owned over the years.

Of course, but "it's not a problem" probably means that they think the fuel filter will stop any particles getting into your engine.

I would be at the dealer having a major tantrum if I had rust in my tank. It should be taken care of before it gets into the engine.
