I must be an idiot. MRA Vario
Okay, I'll admit I can't see how to adjust the MRA Vario screen! I just received it from Fedex and I've got it in front of me. It looks so great. Strong and well built. I can't wait to try it on my bike. BUT!!! I thought I'd learn how to try the different settings before I put it on the bike and for the life of me I don't see how to move it from one setting to another without breaking the darn thing.
Help!
Okay, I just did it. I was afraid I'd break it but the adjustment works fine with a little pressure. Smoke grey. I can't wait to ride!
For those who are curious, Twisted Throttle $149.82. If it works, it's worth every penny!

While sitting on the bike behind the windshield (don't try this when you're riding), using both hands, grab the adjustable wing and pull up on the bottom edge. To collapse the wing, push down on the top edge.
I've found that the Vario does help some with helmet buffeting. The better improvement for me was to remove the stock mirrors and install barend mirrors from CRG. That eliminated ALL helmet buffeting.
I have an '06 so your situation will be different.

I'll let you know as soon as possible. Tomorrow doesn't look good here but Sunday does so expect a reply on Monday.
Brooks, I've put on the mirror extenders but I'm willing to try another approach. Until reading here that a change in mirror placement solved wind buffeting issues, I would never have guessed they were the cause. Thanks for the heads up. That will be my next (and final!) try. I love this bike even with that fault.

I tried mirror extenders first then went with CRG barend mirrors.

Here's a photo of the CRG barends on my bike.

Bar End mirrors and vibration blur
Hey All,
New to Triumph - having so much fun with the bike I haven't even attempted any buffeting/screen fixes, yet. I too believe a large part of it is coming from the mirrors. Curious though, my left mirror vibrates/blurs from ~55-70 mph/4300-5800 RPM. Does anyone else have that problem? Do the bar end mirrors remain blur free?
Thanks!

I thought the mirrors were contributing to the buffeting, so I took them off, didn't make a blind bit of difference!
I have a MRA-vario screen and use it set two clicks from the top.
It shields my chest but gives clear air over my head.(pillion gets no buffeting at all)
Ear plugs make up the rest for a quiet smooth ride and I have the visor open most of the time too.
It really is a very "personal" thing, we are all so different in our shapes and sizes!
Venture style bikes do have inherent wind noise and buffeting problems but I wouldn't swap my Tiger for anything else.
Why did they stop making them??????? Cheers John.

Brooks, thanks for the photo. I'll have to get an adapter if in fact I have to resort to trying a mirror reconfiguration.
Thanks all for your info.

I cannot see the mirrors making that much difference to buffet, but I know when travelling at 70mph + if I put my hand out into the airflow above the tall screen I have, the buffet goes away. That tells me that it's the screen height that makes the difference.
I firmly believe that it's the screen height and width that makes the difference, not the mirrors.
I'm tempted to try the MRA Vario, but it just doesn't look tall enough.
