Hello all, I recently purchased a 2000 885i Tiger from a friend, it is in fantastic shape with 52,000 miles on it and so far seems to be an all around wonderful bike.
I have ridden many bikes through the years, BMW, Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, and I must say that this Tiger has the smoothest shifting tranny I have ever felt on any bike with the Honda ST1100 coming in at a close second. Additionally, the powerband is superb on this cat and it seems to pull forever. I think I am really going to enjoy this one.
This being my first Triumph, I am hoping to get some good pointers and advise on TriumphRat.

Hi Dickie welcome mate you got yourself a great bike there i recently changed from sports bikes to a 2004 tiger myself and i have to say its the best bike iv ever owned this is a great site for info and tech stuff. keep her shiny side up Fred.

That would be interesting indeed, I would also really enjoy seeing the UK, since I have never been there and my ancestry is from across the pond.
The roads here are interesting in Richmond Virginia, drive 2 hours east and you will meet the Atlantic Ocean at Virginia Beach, 2 hours west you would be in the Blue Ridge Mountains Washington DC is 2 hours north, and 2 hours south is North Carolina. Of course the mountains are the most fun for riding.
