Talking What about this Scottish weather?

just had a great day out ithe great Scottich outdoors (again) what is happening to our weather? pretty poor summer all round & now that the nights have really drawn in the weather is brill for being out & about. Not a big miles day today, just a quick blast from home to Inveraray & a little beyond to give "she who must be obeyed" a well deserved run on the bike, we don't get the chance to ride together enough ;-). Apart from one little shower (ok it was a bit bigger than little but only lasted 4-5 miles) what a stonker of a day & I am sure Tigger enjoyed the run as much as we did, she feels much the better of the blast. Here is hopeing that things continue like this. Ok I know it is getting colder but well wrapped up & with the heated grips on occasionally ridding is still fun. At least the gritters have yet to rear their ugly heads, at least here anyway, the longer they dely putting that salyt sh!t on the roads the better. Trying to attach a picture of the better half, a sunny day & Tigger all in perfect harmony but tech skills limited, so here goes.

Hi bigD, I was up there a couple of weeks ago and it was stunning, the weather was fantastic until I got to Fort William on the way back and then it chucked it down all the way through Glen Coe till I got to the Green Welly.

Well then Tonto there is no surprise there then. Better than 50/50 Chance of it being wet in Fort William (wettest place in the UK aparently) Glen Coe & Rannoch Moor is not far behind. Crossing Rannoch moor going north towards Glen Coe one summer day about 4 years ago is the only time I have ever seen rain going up the way as well as down. Blowing a gale & torrential rain, the watter was blowing off the road & verges as quick as it was falling, nastiest riding conditions I have ever experienced. By the time I got to Glen Coe village the sun was out & By the time I stopped in Fort William it was about 70 deg & hadn't been raining, folk kept giving me strainge looks as the water was still dripping off of me.

Scottish weather, you've got to love it cos there is sod all you can do about it. Having said that our weather gets a real bad press, it isn't half as bad as people make out. As Billy Conolly once said, "there is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes"
