Great ride today - Scotland.
For the time of year the weather today was fantastic, sunny all day, no wind and just warm enough, so off to Bonny Scotland for the day !!
For those of you up in that neck of the woods -
1. Set off Hartlepool 10 am.
2. Just for quickness A19, A1, A69 to Heddon.
3. Then onto the A6318 (cracking road) up to Langholm.
4. A7 - Langholm to Hawick - speeds of 100mph +.
5. Just before Hawick turn left onto B711 towards St Mary's Loch.
6. Instead of going to the cafe at the loch, right turn past Megget Reservoir (another great road)
7. Onto the A701 southbound, then up onto the B719, then north on the B7076.
The B7076 is another great road fast and flowing 100mph +.
8. Just past Abington turn onto the B7078, then onto the B740 to Crawick.
9. Right onto the A76 to New Crumnock, then south on the B741 to Dalmellington.
10. South onto the A713 and starting to worry about running out of fuel !!
11. Left on to the A712, then A75 to Dumfries - 235 miles on the trip for fuel, found a
petrol station in Dumfries.
12.Getting tired now so the quick way back A69, then down through Durham, to home.
13. Back home for about 6.30 pm and about 350 miles on the clock.
Sorry for the rant, but for you guys up in that neck of the woods - you lucky buggers !!
The roads are superb, it's as if someone had said - "Right, Graeme's coming to play up here today, I want everyone else off the roads so he can have fun". There was hardly any other traffic !!
If you know of any other roads up there I should be trying, especially to the west of the M74 - A74(M) - please let me know.
Catch you later,
Graeme.

Hey Graeme !!
It just had to be done today !! it was a cracker !!
if you like the Megget Reservoir road ( its one of my favorites ) you will love this one !! its quite a bit further north !! its where i went today....... M9 to Stirling, A84 to Doune, Callander, Lochearnhead, then take the A827 ( if you need fuel at this point stay on the A84 as there`s a petrol station just around the corner, very handy ) Killin, Morenish, then just after Milton Morenish you turn left and up, for the Ben Lawers visitors centre and just ride over Ben Lawers to Bridge of Balgie ( single track well kept road ) Innerwick, Camusvrachan, Invervar, at the Tee junction go right to Croftgarrow, Fearnan. you can go left to Aberfeldy and down that way or the way i like is right on the A827, Lawers, Carie, Kiltyrie and thats you done the Lawers loop !! its very quiet on a week day but will be buzy at the weekends !!
Tigger country !!
KK
ps not as many miles as you but just as big a grin !!

same here - but in Canada!
Well we all seem to be enjoying extraordinary weather. I was out Friday northwest of Ottawa enjoying the beautiful fall colours and our amazing Eastern Ontario roads. October 5th and it was 27C, crystal clear sky and light winds. We are always spoilt here: little to no traffic whenever you are riding the back roads.

Cheers KK,
Sounds like a challenge, will try to bag that one this year, before the weather turns !!
I bought the bike in April this year, and I'm up to 6,000 miles already, so it will have to go in for a service before the "lawers loop".
As for Canada - a bit too far, but sounds great !!
Regards,
Graeme.

Yep weathers been lovely.
Rode over to Windemere on Friday gone with Two mates from work (they were both on Fazer Thou's ) but the Sun shone and all was well.
We need a Directory of Phone numbers or summat for when the weather is good.

Good idea, mate.
Hopefully us "Northern Tigers" can all get out for a ride or two next year.
Regards,
Graeme.

Kenny,
I think me and my mate Allan will do the Lawers loop this Sunday weather permitting. Looks like a nice 300 miler by the time we are done.
We will see how his new Fazer 1000 copes with the back roads.
Andy.

Just got back from a 3 day trip there myself yesterday. Went with a mate and we did almost 1000 miles in 3 days - me on the Tiger and my mate on a GS.
This is my favourite picture:
