gps

I'd recommend getting a GPS onboard, going steady pace and then comparing the speed readouts. otherwise;
front tire profile, wear and even pressure variations have minor +/- effects on the speedo read,
if you are suspecting speedo, who says all the tachs are accurate?

just my $.02

At 5000rpm I am doing 75.
Very consistent reading. GPS confirms speed.

That's what i Thought

When I cruising down the highway at 85 mph I am just barely passing traffic. Going that fast I should be passing everybody. but it seems that my speedo is off by 7mph thanks I will check with other riders tman

On my 07 1050, 5000RPM, 6th gear is 82 mph indicated, about 78 mph per GPS. I find my speedo to be around 5% optimistic compared to the GPS.

Almost every bike produced now the speedo is conservative by 5% +/- so when Im doing 50 Im actually doing 47-48 and it get's worse when you go faster

On my '05 Tiger the speedo is accurate to within 1% of the speed shown by my Garmin Zumo 550 GPS. It also is very accurate when I approach one of those roadside speed warnings.

Agree that the speedos are about 5% too generous. Seems to me my 07 1050 indicates about 66mph @ 4000rpm in 6th.
