I have been in contact with Happy-Trails.com and it seems they will be releasing early next year some aluminium panniers that utilize the stock mounting brackets on our Tigers. If I understand this correctly, that would mean we can switch between our stock plastics and the aluminium ones without changing any brackets. For formal occasions I could use the Triumph bags, and for general bashing about, the Al ones would be spot on!
Cool huh?

That makes a lot of sense!, I'm not sure how different the mountings are for say Zega box pannier ?

But like all things in life, it's nice to have a choice

Your in luck. I was actually the one who did the design for the mounts that Happy Trails is using. My father and I designed them last winter for our tigers and passed the design off to Happy Trails.

My bike is currently at Happy Trails for the fine tuning of their design. Pretty much done, they are just working on the jigs and such now.

They are also comming up with a new set of crash bars, highway pegs and radiator guards that is spot on. Nice tucked in design that still protects as well as my TB clone bars but my legs do not hit them while on the highway pegs.

stock beackets are not worth waiting for once you put the happy trail bags on you will never i mean never! go back and use those worthless clamshell bags. I came back from alaska/yukon so mad at those stock bags i cant tell you. I love the happy trail bags. they are user frendly and 150% watterproof. and hold lots more stuff. JUST DO IT>.

I agree. My stock paniers are stored away never to see daylight again. The HT paniers are first rate and have survived many off road adventures.
