it says new motor....... what changed?

Shaft drive. I see some 1200's on here with chain. When did that change?

I have a multistrada 2012 right now. going to trade for a new multi or the triumph.

Do yourself a favour if you're thinking of buying the 2015 Multistrada - test ride a BMW S1000XR first.

...or don't - because once you've ridden it, everything else just fades into insignificance >:).

I can tell you what hasn't changed - it's still got a piss poor tank on it with limited range !!!

The 1200 has been out for a good few years now, and is competing directly with BMW. So why haven't we got a long range tank version like the GSA ??

For Feck's sake Triumph, build us a bike with a bigger tank option for those of us that actually go places !!!!

ARE YOU LISTENING TRIUMPH ?? :nah

Some of us who are a little older and no longer built like a brick sh!! house find the bike a little top heavy with the paltry 5+ gallons topped off.
Whilst riding across Mexico with another non brick Sh!! house stud the cure was two gallons carried on the back side of panniers, low down.
Range wise I am getting 41-45 mpg giving me over 200 mile range and with the two gallon reserve another 80-90 miles.
Just rode 2 800 mile days and admit that I now must stop and pee every 200 miles.
Thinking I needed a different bike I test rode Yamaha, BMW GSA, KTM and Susuki. Aside from shear speed each felt top heavy whilst full of gas and standing on pegs following goat trails. Been down in sand, slime and rocks. The bike is heavy as is. I wouldn't trade this bike for any other and gain one bit range, long legs, modern technology that would make it more enjoyable.
My first Tiger was 98, then 04, 07 and now this pig.
I think the Explorer is a fine bike and if health allows I will have 40k miles by the end of next year.
