> Left my parking light on tour in France last year, bumped it down the hill in 3rd, had the weight of the panniers to help. Luckily for me LED bulbs (tail and sidelight) saved a lot of battery drain, left enough in the battery to fire the engine even though the starter was to slow.
This account I can believe. As long as there's enough power left for the computer to boot, and for it to trigger injectors and the ignitor modules, and as long as there's enough pressure in the fuel system, it can be done. In other words, as long as there's enough juice to do everything except turn the starter over fast enough.
A battery that's so dead even the instruments won't light...there's not much hope. It would require an incredible series of coincidences.
