Hi all,

anyone got the Haynes Tiger manual? - "Triumph Fuel Injected Triples" I think it's called. As far as I can see it covers the Tiger, Speed Triple, Daytona and Sprint up to 2000. Being someone with lacking mechanical skills I was considering buying it. Is it worth the money? Covering four models in one book seems a bit sparse...

Any feedback appreciated.

Cheers

I've got it. I have not used it yet because ;
a) it doesn't cover my 955i Tiger. &
b) my Tiger has been serviced at the dealers whilst under warranty.

As far as covering 4 different models. You'll find that they do highlight the bits that differ during a strip down with good photos.
I used to have a BMW R100GS. The Haynes manual covered ALL aircooled twins from 1950 odd to the last in 1993. I never had any trouble finding the relevant passages.
I think it'll be worth getting for your 855i??? model. I thought they were 885cc.

Yep

Buy the book.

If you intend to tinker yourself its a useful guide.

As Blacktiger has written the sections are usually segregated into models highlighting any differences. Some times Haynes can be misleading, sometimes plain wrong but in the main they are not bad.

A level of competence required is given as guidance for each of the tasks, depending on how you rate yourself as a mechanic this can be a bit of a curse (don't go thinking you are better than you are) but generally it will flag up to you the tasks that you should think twice about tackling.

Biggest thing is don't rely totally on the book but use it & common sense unless you are willing to fork out the 60 or so quid for the pucka Triumph manual for your bike.

With a bit of luck you won't need to dabble too much beyond routine servicing. (unless you are confident & capable I would leave the valve clearance check & adjust to your dealer, its a bit of a task, hence the high cost).

Have fun

D
