I have just used the tail pack for a weekend trip and although it was great to have and the concept worked well there are issues.

Firstly it is very hard to zip up when full .

The zipps are not heavy duty and on the way home the zipps parted .I found that the stitching was lose and the end of the zipps were comming apart .

I was lucky the safety clips held the bag because it could have flipped over and jammed in the back wheel of bike

It is a costly item and I think triumph should investigate .

I see a warrenty claim comming

Thanks for the post...I am heading to the dealer tomorrow for the 600 mile service and was planning to order the Triumph tail pack...I'll postpone that purchase now. How much is your commission?

I have been using the tailpack for about 2000 miles, and not experienced any zipper problems like that. The upper zipper for the lid is sturdy, but I see how the smaller-size retaining zippers could split if the bag was loaded heavily. If you're not familiar with the bag, it zippers to a wide piece of material which is bolted under the seat. While this makes for a snazzy mounting, the zippers are about the size found on a men's jacket.

My main problem with the bag is that it rubs the rear paintwork. Even if you tuck the handle under the bag, the bag itself will start to rub as it relaxes from use. I suppose an anti-rub tape is needed for the paintwork.

Other than that, it's been a good commuter bag for me, and beats a tank bag. Good luck with your claim, Harty.

If the rear handle rubs the paint just put a strip of race face on paint .It works a treat.
