Just wondering if anyone have put full three piece Givi set of boxes on the new Tiger yet? I know one of you are running with a Givi topbox - was this simply done by mounting the grabrail then the Givi standard monoplate on top of this?
I notice SW-Motech are selling their quick-lock system for the 1050, but I'm not the biggest fan of this, considering how solid Givi's own racks normally are. Hepco Becker are also selling a luggage rack for the 1050, but have no pictures on their site. I've posted to Givi asking when racks will become available, but no reply as per yet.

Anyone got any more info on this?

According to what I've gathered:

1. Tiger grabrail with Triumph sliding rack will work with Givi adapter plate, w/slight mods. You need both the rack and the grab rail unless you fab something off of the grab rail yourself.

2. SW-Motech orders have been delayed for most people

3. Only one guy in England on the tiger1050.com board, Doc, has gotten his SW-Motech rack and sidecase system - he somehow got the prototype racks, and has some good pics on that site of the full Givi set-up with SW/Mo racks.

4. I have e-mailed a US vendor for H&B and they did not know when the H&B racks will be available.

5. From what I've seen, Givi is only making a topcase rack, and not sidecase racks - I could be wrong, but that's what it said the last time I was at their site.

I am running Triumph panniers with rear grab rail and rack. The floating rack and metal plate have gone and I have a Givi universal plate (E250 I think), and maxima top box. The universal plate will fit with some slight modification but i am having a special metal plate made to take the givi universal rack, as it will be a neater job. The metal plate that comes with the Triumph floating rack would do the job as well, but the floating part of thee rack would be redundant.

Thanks for feedback guys. Can someone tell me what Triumph mean by "floating"?

The triumph floating rack is a plastic rack mounted on a metal plate with a system of plastic sleeves and washers and inserts that allows the rack to move left to right approx half inch. This means the top box floats from side to side as you lean, which apparently is beneficial. Honda do the same with some of their racks.

Cheers again, have to admit I don't like the sound of anything bar myself moving around the bike, but since I've not tried it I'll not make any judgements...

Anyway, took my query to Givi and got the following answer:

Dear Sir,
I am afraid we are unable to put panniers on this bike, as to the topcase kit I am afraid that we are yet to receive any in the country and as such we don't yet have any fitting instructions I'm afraid.
Sorry
Sue
GIVI UK Ltd
Looking back through my email trails this is the same Sue who back in Feb06 told me the Tiger Givi rack would not fit my 900, which I proved her wrong on, so I might just contact Givi Italy and see what they say. I just can't see Givi letting SW/Mo and HB taking the whole market for non-oem luggage...
