okay, so i have set out on a quest to make my beast brighter in the dark since my commute involves 15 miles of very twisty wooded roads. the first round was upgrading my H4's with some of these fancy pants piaa extreme white bulbs.

at the same time i was going to make it so both my low beams worked all the time, since only my left one would come on...but...after 30 minutes messing around with various relays i realized that i was not a victim odd lawmakers, but rather the victim of a used bike with one burnt out low beam! doh!

so i took some digital pics to see the difference with the new bulbs. since i couldn't get a pic of dual OEM low beams, i took an added pic with one PIAA low beam for a more proper comparison.

all pictures were taken with a digital SLR with a 4 second exposure....

this is one OEM low beam...

this is one PIAA low beam...

this is two PIAA low beams...

this is two OEM high beams...

this is two PIAA high beams...

so overall the outcome was positive, i haven't taken it for a ride yet since i'm leaving it in pieces while i mount up some litte PIAA 1200s in the horn positions. as the pictures show the color is much nicer. when looking at the lights, they don't look blue like i thought they might, but just whiter -- which i prefer.

anyway, just thought i'd share.

cheers
droo

Great improvement! I'll try those bulbs. Very unimpressed with the Tiger's OEM light solution.

yeah, i am pretty happy with the results, and even happier that getting both low beams to work was a simple case of changing bulbs! :-D
