I have seen more than one bmw gs with over 100k on it. How about tigers?
I have heard of one getting to 100k. But could not find anything else. Or proof.

Sir... I take it ou are talking about BMW's self destructing at 1500 miles. If not we need to elaborate...
Mine has now reached 21K and the biggest problem is that I feel the need to fiddle and alter things, but there aint no reason to do so. It works better than my car. It is 100% and try as I might to justify buying a new one, it cant be done. Its too damm sensible!!!

A mate of mine is a despatch rider, and he works his Tiger damned hard, all day every day. Apart from the usual woes like punctures, he has done 97,000 miles now, and apart from looking like it has been in a war zone (London traffic....no difference really!), it still runs like a swiss watch. Regular oil and filter changes are a must, but apart from that just servicing at the 12,000 intervals.

Newly returned from Spain my Tiger has just reached 46,000 miles - regular services, no trouble (that wasn't self-inflicted, anyway...)

It is not a steamer, it is an 885 efi model, 1998 i think ??
I'll grab some photo's of it when i see him next. If the flash gun can penetrate through the krud all over it :-D
But steamers are pretty damned tough too. One of the guys i meet at our local bike meet has done 86,000 on his steamer and it is still going strong and looks great. He had the sprag clutch problem when it was 3 years old, but since the mods were done it has been fine!

Hi all,
I own a 97 Tiger 900 which I used every day in London traffic for 2 years (955 triple carb jobby that drinks as much petrol as my Renault 11).
Then I got bored of London and decided to ride down to the south of Spain (Malaga) and have been here ever since. My only concern was finding Triumph spares or a decent service agent down here (Spain seems to be a Honda and BMWīs only club) so I brought a few spares with me (Chains, filters, brake pads etc). In the 5 years which I have been here I have never had to buy or change anything apart from the brake pads, filters and light bulbs (headlight bulbs go all the time, I donīt know why).
I donīt know about other Triumph machines but my one is awesome and I wouldnīt sell it even if I were dying of hunger. Oh yeah... most importantly, I always keep it clean, greased up and well oiled. Hehehe These spanish AfricaTwin riders canīt believe it when I overtake them at 150mph.
Anyway, thatīs my experience with Triumph. A ***** good one so far.

:-D Dokhian, is your Tiger Blue by any chance ?? I visit Mijas 2 or 3 times a year, once a year I hope to take the two wheels down, other times grab a cheap flight. Anyway I spotted one 'steamer' a few weeks ago on my last visit, parked up. Only Tiger i saw. Never saw any Fi's. Cannot recall where it was, might have been Toremelinous ( pardon spelling)

Hey guys, I personally saw a guy with a Tiger at Orange County Triumph with over 100,000 miles. I don't know what year it was but it even had a trailer hitch....John
