Plenty of B+B's on skye,
depends on which way you want to go, but I would suggest, M74-M73 onto M8 west to junc'17, onto A82 all the way to Invergarry, onto the A87 to Kyle of Lochalsh.
Remember to pay the bridge toll it aint cheap.
Some parts of that route can be as fast as you would want to go, but all of it is very scenic, keep your camera handy.
Enjoy your honeymoon

yep the bridge is a nightmare just now.
Hey KuzzinKenny, you should know you live right below it
If these high winds continue it will be closed to buses and motorcycles anyway.
In any case you shouldn't need to go near the Forth Road bridge, unless you want to circumnavigate Scotland.

best of luck with your wedding. I hope everything goes well for you both.
glad you decided to give your tiger a chance to prove how good a bike she can be.
Dependant on time I would be tempted to cut inland to Stirling (rather than going round Glasgow), Dunblane, Callander, Strathyre, Lochearnhead, Killin, back towards Crianlarich, up through Bridge of Orchy to Glencoe, follow the 82 north to Loch Ness and west to Skye.
Remember your waterproofs, take your time and have a great ride. As has been said take your camera as you will pass through some cracking countryside :-D

Welcome back JudgeGed and congrats on the marital union.
Recommend you miss Glasgow by leaving the M6 at Carlisle and head off northwest towards the coast, then take the Gourock to Dunoon Ferry and ride north past Loch Eck.Wind your way up the west coast past Oban to Connell and then loop inland around Glen Coe. Continue north through Fort William to Invergarry. The route over to Kyle from here is breathtaking.
If you stay in the Kyle area, don't miss the single track road over to Applescross Bay which is on the mainland a little further north, right opposite Skye. Fabulous coastal route north from here looping back onto main road.
Relate ? is that a distillery I missed out on ?

Hi Ged
My Suggestion is pick up the Scottish Tourist Board B&B gives you all the info you will need, you'll be surprised how busy the B&B's are even at this time of year and particularly over a weekend. If you plan to move around book in the morning or better the night before for where you want to be that night, saves a lot of hassle when you arrive and have then to find a place. A number of the good B&B's in these areas are not necessarily obvious to find while passing through, a bit of research pays off. I'd stick with 3* min and 4* where possible, your then guaranteed a good standard, theres only a few £'s difference between the ratings, better to keep the good lady happy while biking I say, particularly on honeymoon.
My mates and I ride these roads most weekends and this suggestion is probably our favorite route-
M74 to M8 heading to Glasgow, take J30 for Erskine Bridge, (toll but bikes are free) take A82 heading to Loch Lomond, take A817 after Arden onto the Glen Fruin and stop for a view, take A814 at small roundabout heading up Lock Long to Arrochar (one of my favorite roads, but watch the sheep and the divers), at Arrochar go left onto A83 and head to Inveraray. At this point you have 2 options, if you have time continue on A83 to Lochgilphead and then onto A816 and go right up West Coast to Oban (great road), if short on time go through large white arch next to hotel just as you enter Inverary and take A816 (brilliant road we often do this on an evening through the week as part of a circuit from Glasgow), take A85 heading to Oban, at Connel take A828 over Connel Bridge and follow road up Loch Creran and Lock Linnhe to Ballachulish(another great road), over Ballachulish Bridge on A82 heading to Fort William, continue on A82 through Spean Bridge heading to Invergarry and take A87 all the way to Kyle of Lochalsh and Skye. Depending on time on your way back, do a variation on above or head across to the A9 and blast back down the road. (watch speed cameras on A9)
There's plenty of good coffee and lunch stops on all these roads and plenty of great views. There can be a lot of bikes on the roads in these areas at the weekends particularly if the sun is out. We find most of the nutters don't want to venture to far afield though and tend to stick to more direct shorter routes however, if any do stray on to these roads it can be fun, as a good majority of them only come out in the good weather and don't know there arse from there elbow, it can be a bit of a shock to them when their Ducati or the like is passed by a big traillie.
And finally a road is only as fast as you want to travel it. Have a good trip, enjoy the scenery and take care!

Congratulations on the forthcoming nuptials.
You have picked a cracking time to visit the West Highlands, if it is dry. Outlook for the weekend is not too bad, might even be up that way myself (look out for the Orange Tiger hopefully being tamed by a large grinning Scotsman give me a wave & say hello if possible). ipg gave some real good advice on his post, almost what I would have said myself. Only thing I would add is that if you intend to get a B & B on the mainland local to Kyle of Lochalsh you are probably better to head into Plockton (6 or 7 miles from the Kyle) lovely little place with a stonkingly good pub/restaurant & a fair number of B & Bs good base for touring locally. If you have time jump on the glass bottomed boat tour good way to spend some time. As ijp says use the tourist offices, usually get you sorted with good digs pretty quick.
Have a happy honeymoon no matter what.
D
PS
I hope you & the Tiger manage not to fall out.
