Hi,

I'm new to this site, but thought I would say hello and after three years of my faithfull and I must say faultless 03 Tiger 955i that I had from new and put 36000 miles on her, I traded her for the new 1050, I've covered 300 miles since last Saturday going backwards and forwards to work, but what a machine, I can honestly say I am chuffed to bits with it,

Cheers Clemski

I agree, it is one heck of a nice bike. I took the bike to an "advanced riders course" this past Sunday and the bike out peformed everything there. I passed the course no problem with the Tiger underneath me. :-D

John,

When are you going to buy a 1050? With the lowering kit, mine feels about the same as sitting on my T-100 bonnie with the King/Queen seat. On mounting, I can get my leg over and past the side bags and soft tail bag without hitting them; however, I have some work to do on my dismount technique--I do hit the side bag and the top of the soft tail bag on dismount. Don't touch any painted surfaces, though. :-D :-D

Hi ya,

Yes indeed it's unique, the only one with a reverse gear, had my rack fitted last night so that I can fit my GIVI top box on, had to buy an extra bit that did'nt came with the rack for some reason, but I don't seem to have a problem getting my leg over though, thats the Tiger I mean!

I've always loved the looks of the Tiger 955, but man does the 1050 look sweet. I've never ridden either model, but I think I'll head to Baxter's soon for a test ride. I see they currently have a 2007 and a 2006 Tiger in stock. I'd like to compare the two. Is there a big difference on how they ride? If you could get a great deal on a 2006 would you purchase it, or would you pay full price for a 2007?

Oh yah Kem, you will have to pay sticker for the '07. New model just realeased and their in demand. Once you ride the '07 you will be hooked so make sure and get prequalified for a loan. :-D :-D :-D

I've ridden both and the main thing I noticed was the older Tiger feels higher and has softer suspension. The new one feels a lot lighter and for me it handles better. I thought the suspension was a nice cross between the old Tiger and the shocks they use on the Multi-stradas (pretty firm). Not too soft and not too firm with lots of travel (although not as much travel as the old Tiger).

The engine on both is the balls. I believe the only difference is that the new motor has been "stroked" to a 1050. I know the fuel injection is better on the new Tiger over what I have on my Sprint. It's less snatchy. You can't go wrong with either, but I personally ordered the new one as I felt it was easier to lug around in the garage and because I'm enamored with the looks. It's so comfortable and so confidence inspiring. The new Tiger felt safe and in control on any type of crappy roads I threw at it. The test ride will probably make your mind for you.
