I know a few riders on this forum use the Lubetronic chain lube system, just wondered if anyone has had problems obtaining spare parts for the unit?, I need a new supply tube (from the reservior) and a new feed tube end, I phoned Motrax and they advised me they will see what they can find, but that they don't do spares!.
I will wait and see what they come up with, but it doesn't look to good in the case of a breakage or moving the unit to another location/bike if all the pipes have already been cut to length ?

That's why you should stick to a Scottoiler :-D

loads of parts available direct from the manufacturer & a good service to boot.

D

Firm believer in Scottoilers.

You're probably right !, I only went the lubtronic route due to being told by my dealer that there may be warranty implications using a scottoiler. I will wait and see what they come up with and may have to switch anyway

Tell me about it!, my flow control valve packed up, so i tried to get a spare only to be told that they can no longer get stock :???: Does this mean that they have gone wheels up?, me thinks so.

I have gone with a Scottoiler which i fitted last weekend. The warranty crap that Triumph dictate is only to get you to get them to fit it!...kerching goes the till! If they do it they will warranty it

Unless anybody can put me right, i don't know anybody that has had cause to 'blame' a Scottoiler for any engine malfunction or damage ?

Bugger, just bought a Lubetronic following glowing recommendations in these trails..... £90 odd could have gone for the touring Scottoiler for that. How long did your oilers last?

Had a trip round the factory today organised by the dealer, what a place....

Just a note on oilers.
I spoke to the local Scottoiler importer and he said that Triumph had a project with Scottoiler to fit them to all Triumphs and give added value to Triumph customers. A lot of work was done by Scottoiler to make them specifically for Triumph before some marketing goose or bean counter did the sums and worked out that it would add to the cost of the bike and reduce revenue from sales of replacement chains and sprockets - and killed the project. This basically shafted Scottoiler, and to add insult to injury, Triumph also apparently declared that fitting a Scottoiler voided the warranty - although I have heard this, I have never seen it in writing.

I find this of interest, as it would mak and interesting legal battle if it became an issue and a customer fought it. I think Triumph do not have a legal leg to stand on unless it can be proved that the Scottoiler or the fitting actually caused a problem.
Also, how can A Scottoiler void the warranty but not other brands. I assume it is the tapping of the vacuum line. How can this possible cause a problem?
Anyway, I have a Scottoiler fitted with their Lubetube under the seat so I don't fill it very often, and I love it. Good simple and reliable. Been around for years, I can get any part and they seem to be doing development work to make the product better.

Go Scottoiler!

CATUCK,
My lubtronic is only about 6 months old, all that has happened is that the delivery pipe, where it drips the oil out has split (may have been caught by the chain). I want to move the delivery pipe anyway as it was fitted by the dealer and I think it could be positioned better, but they have cut the pipes to length so I have nothing to play with. I have ordered some of the Scottoiler tubing/injectors to see if I can make them fit. :???:

Timtiger,

You hit the nail on the head about Triumph shafting Scottoiler!. It is just a ploy to get you to part with your hard earned cash for them to fit it. I am no Triumph technician but you don't have to be one to fit one.

The 'T' piece for Triumph injected bikes that Scottoiler provide free of charge is a good quality fitting that has good rubber sleeving at each end. If you make sure the vacuum pipe is a good fit inside this sleeving, then there is an excellent seal on the vacuum pipe.

As i found out, the bike will run like a dog if you have kinked the pipes or squashed the ends when inserting into the rubber sleeving. (The vacuum pipes are pretty soft plastic) I got around this problem by gently pushing a rod into the cut vacuum pipe then threading the rubber sleeve over the rod and down over the vac pipe, then withdrew the rod and pushed the other end of the rubber back on to the 'T' piece.

It will be interesting to see the next generation Scottoilers that are in the project stage. They are working to develop a wind driven oiler. I guess this will involve a small impeller being fitted somewhere, creating the same effect as the induction vacuum. Should be a cinch to fit as well?

I had my Lubetronic for 4 years and it gave faultless service. I think i finsihed it off with a pressure washer The scottoiler delivery tube should fit ok.
