April issue of Rider magazine has a great article about the Tiger and a nice shot of a white one on the cover page. The first editorial writing has the heading "2007 MOTY Peoples Choice" and in the editorial Mark Tuttle talks about Rider Magazine picking a fresh new bike or upgraded bike for 2007 Bike of the Year. At the end he talks about a category "Peoples Choice Pick for 2007" where he invites everyone to e-mail in there pick for 2007 Bike of the Year. I don't know about you Blokes, but I am thourghly impressed with the Tiger and will be sending in my vote for the 2007 Tiger 1050.

Send your votes to: editor@ridermagazine.com by April 15,2007.

Hey can we make this a sticky until April 15th?

Wow, not that may '07 Tiger owners passing through here these days.

If you own one and you are as impressed with your machine as I am, then send an e-mail to rider magazine and let them know what you think of your Tiger.

There seems to be a bit of a divide between the old Tiger owners and the new Tiger owners on this site. Triumph has created a rift I think... Now we have two completely different mind-sets in here. Old school big-trailie vs. New school tall-'rounder. Neither camp seems too excited by the other camps choice of mount... I guess they are just too different... I hope things will improve in the Summer. Can't we all get along?!? :???:

They've got my vote! Here's what I emailed:

Having just picked up a new Tiger 1050 and run up nearly a thousand kays in a week of just "running around", I would rate this machine very highly for top spot in your BOTY award. I own about 25 bikes including a number of R1200GS's, an ST1300, Rocket, etc etc and IMHO, the new Tiger creams the lot of them! It does everything real well. You can be fanging out through the bumpy and patchy back roads at warp speed one minute, then run it right down to 50kph in top as you rumble through the next country town the next minute, with nary a protest. One very sweet motorcycle!

Triumph could have at least called the new bike something different (maybe a Cheetah?) and continued producing the latest 955 Tiger! When I wear this one out I'll be forced into a KTM.

Hey WINDGEN, you could always apply a bit of lateral thinking to your next bike. Instead of the KTM, get a set of fancy alloy hubs laced up to some sexy 21" and 18" rims, make up some axle spacers, fit an allow bash plate to your new Tiger 1050 and voila, go find some unfortunate 990 rider and show 'em who's the daddy!!! Like Triumph exhorts us to do... Go your own way!
