I am trying to come up with a way to attach some sort of driver's backrest to my tiger. It is an 02 and I want something that gives some low back support to lean back on when doing long stretches. Anybody successfully put one on? I have been able to find any aftermarket stuff for the tiger and I am a bit surprised becuase the bike does tour pretty well.

Thanks to all

I use a BMW bag that is silver and has a waterproof zip. It ocst about AUD$120 and is pretty good. I stuff it with clothes and is good to lean back on. It is not too tall as I wear a backpack with a water bladder and it does not interfere with this.

I notice that Corbin do backrests that I am sure you could fit with a little modification to the standard seat. It won't actually fit onto the Corbin Tiger seat as it seems to be a 1 peice unit.

I am about to order a Russell Day Long Saddle with a built in Rider backrest.

It is going to cost ~$700 shipping included in all vinyl. You can get leather or velour inserts or all leather for additional costs.

www.day-long.com

They do not have the Tiger listed but I have talked to them on the phone and they do rebuild tiger seats.

You have to send your seat to them and it may take as long as 6 weeks to get it back.

$700?? wow!

if your cheap like me :-D you may want to try something like the Back Align; (http://www.cyclegadgets.com/Products...Item=BACKALINE) It's a belt device that goes around your abdomen and lower back area and it puts pressure on your lumbar and also encourages good posture which is critical to reducing lower back strain.

I did a 350 miler last week and no problems with lower back pain at all.. for $40 it's worth a shot

p.s. I also have the Triumph gel-seat and I've recently lost about 25lb which also helped greatly reduce the strains on the lower back area
