Can someone please tell me is the 955 Daytona and 955 Tigers are in exactly the same state of tune (i.e no softer cams etc).

Is it exactly the same engine?

Cheers Guys

From memory Daytona has hotter cams, different pistons, rods, possibly liners and I think the valves are different as well. Answer, no they are not in the same state of tune.

Totally different engine internals and state of tune. I've owned both and the Daytona is a different package, varying between 120 and 147 bhp (allegedly) depending on which year it is. The last of the Tigers have 105 bhp and the torque is available lower down the rev range. I've just bought a 2003 Speed Triple today, and I'd forgotten how quick the tuned 95 motor is.

Yup different cams and maps.. HP tuned for the high end and the low end suffers a bit.. It's also not the same engine as the 955i Speed Triples!!

I've seen it somewhere that the Tiger has an older version cylinder head. Hence the reason it has shims on top of the buckets whereas all the other 955i models have shims under the buckets.
I would guess that a lot of the bottom end would be the same.

Does anyone know if the Daytona 955 engine would fit straight into the Tiger 955 Chassis ?
