Hi gang,

I fitted a Loobman to my 2006 Tiger 955i over the weekend. To be honest, I didn't find the fitting instructions terrific.

Took her out for her first ride after fitting today and when I arrived, I noticed one of the cable ties that rests on the smooth part of the sprocket had already fallen out.

The instructions say to cut a cable tie to length using the supplied guide. I did this, but wasn't sure if the cut length was supposed to include the "head" of the cable tie (i.e. the bit you'd normally thread the other end of the cable tie through) or not. I fitted it without and used the other cable ties that hold the oiler "head" together to fasten the end of oil guide cable ties in place, but that obviously hasn't worked.

Thanks in anticipation for your help.

Cheers,

Mark

Hi Psionmark:

You did it as per directions. It's a fiddly job putting all that lot together and lining it up isn't it. I think you just had bad luck with the end falling out. The "head" of each tie which has had the pointy end cut off to be used as the oil deliverer is used as a hold down over the bent over top-end of the deliverer. I agree that the installation directions could use a polish, but once set up the device works very well and aside from the manufactured end you can rebuild any part of it from your local plastic shop.

Thanks for the reassurance.

Had a closer look lunchtime and the tie on that feeds the sprocket had actually snapped off (after one ride!) rather than simply fallen off.

I've put on another and tightened everything up and will see how it is on the way home.
