Took my Tiger in for the first 500 mile service. The service manager called me to tell me there is an "update notice" from Triumph to change out the front brake caliber piston to improve feel of front brake. What do you know, they are taking care of the spongy front brake. It really did not bother me that much, but since they are willing and it costs nothing.

Just a note to you guys that have the '07 Tiger, only the first few hundred Tigers will this apply to, up to a certain serial number. And Triumph will not notify you, this is a bulletin that will be reviewed by your Triumph dealer service department only when the bike is in for other service.

My "inside" info on this is that Triumph will replace some parts of the brakes IF the owner complains of spongeyness or generally doesn't like the feel of the brakes.
My take on was that if you didn't moan then they wouldn't touch it.

I told the service manager at my dealer that I heard that there was a service bulletin and asked him to look into it while the bike was in getting its 500 mile service. He checked and told me that it is not a recall, but an improvement to provide more "feel". Since this is work under the warranty he has to order the parts from Triumph. I have scheduled a return visit in 2 weeks to have the work done. Your experience at your dealers may vary but I dont think I actually had to complain.

I just took mine in for the 500 mile service. They looked for the typical recall/bulletin notices and found the one for the brake cylinder. They called me and told me it is not a safety issue but rather an improvement in feel of the brakes. Told me would take a few days to get parts and asked if I wanted them to keep the bike and get it done. It does pertain to bikes within a certain range of serial numbers.
